Our Summer School is held every August, and is a four week intensive course in journalism and newswriting.

Whether you are an overseas student or based in the UK, this course provides a unique opportunity for you to acquire the fundamental skills required and receive professional journalism training in small, friendly groups, while at the same time enjoying the sights and culture of London.

You will have the benefit of group discussions and lively question and answer sessions, seminars conducted by our professional team of writers and journalists and lectures from outside guest speakers.

As part of this course we will arrange for you to visit local magistrates courts, exhibitions, museums or art galleries - and report on what you see.

Returning a completed application form and receiving an offer of a place constitutes a firm contract with The London School of Journalism. The payment of a deposit reserves your place on the course, but this reservation will be lost if the balance of fees due is not received by The London School of Journalism by the date stated on your application form or, if no date is specified, at least fourteen days before course commencement.

Course fees are refundable only as follows: Cancellations made 45 days or more prior to course commencement will suffer a charge of 15% of the total course fee; cancellations made less than 45 days but more than 15 days before course commencement will suffer a charge of 50% of the course fee. If less than 15 days' notice is given, no refunds will be made in respect of cancellations.

Non-attendance of a class or classes due to illness or for personal or professional reasons does not provide the right to a refund of fees, extra tuition or a transfer to another course.

Cancellation after the commencement of the course will result in the loss of all fees paid. Once a course has commenced the full fees are due regardless of whether or not a student completes the course.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances this course may be cancelled by the LSJ, in which case full refunds of all fees already paid will be made. Notice of cancellation in writing will be given a minimum of 14 days before the start date.
